AcuGlow Acupuncture Clinic Galway

About

About your acupuncturist:

Helen Falvey Dip. Ac, C. Tuina, MAFPA is a graduate of the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland; she is a member of the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association and Evidence Based Acupuncture.

Helen has completed continued professional development with Dr. Anthony Lombardi and Richard Hazel L.Ac. among others.

About your treatment:

At the beginning of your treatment, we will go through all aspects of your health, then the pulse is taken and the tongue is observed.  With all this information a treatment plan is devised.

If you are attending for pain or injury we will perform the EXSTORE physical assessment system, as developed by Dr. Anthony Lombardi, to discover which muscles are not firing correctly and are causing dysfunctional movement patterns resulting in pain, inflammation and decreased mobility.  We then treat the relevant motor points to restore the function in the muscles- an improvement in strength and a decrease in pain will often be seen in session.

For the acupuncture treatment, thin, sterile, single use acupuncture needles are inserted at specific points on the body.  Patients may feel a slight tingling, throbbing, or heavy sensation after the needles are inserted; this generally gives way to an overall very relaxing feeling as the treatment takes effect.

All acupuncture treatments are approved for cover by all of the main health insurance companies.
